Cesare De Lollis tra filologia romanza e letterature comparate
Cesare De Lollis was one of the most important Italian novels philologists between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Trained within the historical school, he experienced first-hand the cultural and methodological crisis of the beginning of the century, questioning the method of the masters and approaching the Crocian aesthetic. His conception of Romance philology led him to leave the confines of the Middle Ages and move into Modernity, with an intrinsically gaze compared to the literary traditions of the Romance countries (Italy, France and Spain in particular). The volume offers an in-depth investigation of the most important fields of study of the Abruzzo philologist, tracing continuity and discontinuity of a complex and varied critical path.
