Het minderhedenbeleid voorbij
In Beyond minority policy, the authors ask whether specific minority policy is necessary. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this specific policy compared to generic policy, and what are the consequences of abolition or of a different interpretation? This yearbook is the successor to The Minority Policy and provides information on recent policy developments in the areas of minorities, migration and diversity. It consists of two parts. In the first theoretical part, the “sense and nonsense” of specific minority policy is approached from different disciplines and put in a comparative perspective. Part two shows how minority policy is put into practice. Using the policy fields of work, safety, health care, education, youth care and local government policy, the authors show how generic policy – or the transition to generic policy – is designed and how it works out at local level.
